Tim Mayotte to visit East Brunswick Racquet Club

Tim Mayotte will be at the East Brunswick Racquet Club on Saturday, December 4 from 2:30 - 5:30. He will be joining the junior lesson group from 3:00 - 5:00.

During his professional tennis career Tim Mayotte won 12 career titles and reached a rank of 7. Come on down to EBRC and meet Tim!

EAST BRUNSWICK, SEPTEMBER 8, 2010 Swedish tennis pros Sofia Arvidsson and Johanna Larsson both ranked among the Top 100 worldwide trained with a couple of youth players Wednesday at the East Brunswick Racquet Club. Former Swedish tennis great Catarina Lindqvist owns and operates the club with her husband, Bill Ryan, and they hosted Arvidsson and Larsson at their Rumson home during the pros' recent stints in the U.S. Open.

In Flushing Meadows, Arvidsson, 26, won a first-round match before bowing out. Larsson, 22, lost in the first round. The pair also lost a doubles match there.

They were training Wednesday in preparation for a WTA tournament in Quebec starting Monday.

"We really like it here," said Arvidsson of their stay in New Jersey. "We lost in the U.S. Open and we have to play in Canada next week, and it's too far to go home. We're really good friends with Catarina and Bill, they're nice and they let us stay with them and practice here."

Larsson said she and Sofia had their chances in their doubles match, but failed to capitalize on them.

"All the players in the U.S. Open are so good you really have to be on top of your game," Larsson said.

Working out with the Swedes on Wednesday were Derek Liu, 15, and Michael Chen, 13, both of Holmdel.

We would like to welcome our new Tennis Director, Mike Morris. Mike has 25 years of experience teaching juniors at the tournament level. He has recently been teaching at the New Shrewsbury Racquet Club. He will be in charge of our summer camp, and in the fall, he will be running the new junior program.
