The firm, Michael T. Wolf Esq., began operations in Atlantic City, New Jersey on June 1, 2005. The practice is limited to family law matters, which include divorce, custody, parenting time and removal(both interstate and intrastate), adoption, domestic violence, child support, palimony and DYFS cases. He has vast experience dealing with complex family law cases. He attempts to limit cases to Atlantic, Cape May, Ocean, Burlington and Monmouth counties. However, that does not mean that he would not take any cases outside of those counties in New Jersey.
Prior to June 1, 2005, Mr. Wolf enjoyed a successful family law career with an officein Toms River, New Jersey. He started as an associate attorney for the firm, Pogarsky, Louis & Santangelo in 1994. The firm was renamed to Frank A. Louis, PC in January 1997, at which time Mr. Wolf made partner. He continued as partner from January 1997 to May 2005 when he decided to open his own office in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The firm was renamed to Louis, Roe & Wolf in January 1998 and was renamed in October 2004 to Louis & Wolf.
Michael Wolf is a trained litigator. During his 14 years in private practice, he has participated in numerous divorce trials, custody trials, domestic violence trials and adoption trials. In addition, he has been able to negotiate favorable settlements for his clients in the majority of his cases. During the past year, he has successfully defended clients in domestic violence cases in Ocean County. Also, he has been successful in domestic violence final restraining orders for clients. He successfully represented a client in Atlantic County who resided in Las Vegas, Nevada who sought custody of his son and permission to move his son from New Jersey to Las Vegas, Nevada. After a fulltrial, the trial court ruled for the father. He successfully represented a client in Atlantic County whosought to adopt her stepson over the objection of the biological mother. After a full trial, the trial court ruled in favor of his client, and permitted the adoption to take place. In two (2) cases, one in Ocean County and the other inMonmouth County, he was able to convince the trial court to dismiss the case that DYFS had filed against his clients.
Michael Wolf has been able to negotiate favorable settlements for clients in complex family law cases. He has represented attorneys including one who is a partner in one of the largest and most prestigious law firms in Southern New Jersey. He has represented physicians and dentists and other professionals. He has also represented business owners and spouses of the owners in their divorce cases and has been able toreach favorable settlements. For example, he has represented an owner of a car wash, an owner of a construction business with millions of dollars in revenues per year, an owner of several real estate agencies and a partner in one of the largest environmental firms in New Jersey. No matter how complex the case may be, Michael Wolf has the legal experience to handle it for theclient and will strive to obtain the most favorable result, whether through litigation or negotiation.
A large component of my practice consists of returning clients. Quite often the entry of a divorce judgment in a case is just the starting point. Especially when children are involved, cases return to court, addressing custody and support issues such as parenting time issues, changes in custody, increasing or decreasing support or contribution towards post high-school educational or vocational expenses. Michael Wolf's clients have told him that they have been extremely satisfied with his hard-work ethic, preparation, litigation skills and, most importantly, practical solutions to theircases. Not only doeshe have legal experience, butMichael Wolfalso has the life experience of having his parents divorce when he was only 12 years old. He understands the dilemma that children of divorce must usually face, such as the feeling of being "caught in the middle" and the need not to hurt either parent. He uses his life experience in representing his clients. Most psychological studies show divorce is the second highest stressful event, next to the loss of a spouse. Michael's goal is to assist the client to get through such a stressful event so that they will be able to move on with their life in a positive direction.
