Welcome to Cumberland Internal Medicine! We want you to become familiar with our practices policies regarding appointments, referrals, prescription renewals and lab/x-ray results.

1. Most of the time you can schedule an appointment on the same or next day for an acute problem. Most acute visits are scheduled with our Physician Assistant, Melody Thomas.

2. As a courtesy, it is our practice to call you one or two days before your appointment.

3. We need 24 hrs. notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. You will be charged $25 if you cancel the same day as your appointment.

4. We need 48 hrs. to process a referral and 72 hrs. to process a precertification.

5. We need 48 hrs to process prescriptions. You may call in your prescriptions day or evening by calling the office at 856-794-8700 and selecting prompt 3.

6. Because of the large volume of lab and x-ray studies that are ordered on our patients, it is not possible to call all patients with results. You will be called if labs are significantly changed or if additional labs are required.

7. If you are requesting a change in medications because of insurance coverage, this may require a visit to the office.
