Welcome to the Creative Living Counseling Center website! This website is to introduce you to Creative Living Counseling Center and contains information about our organization, therapists, programs and support groups.
The Creative Living Counseling Center (CLCC) helps people live creative, productive lives that are emotionally and spiritually fulfilling through quality psychotherapy and pastoral counseling services as well as a wide variety of community outreach programs.
A unique aspect of our program is our ability to offer pastoral counseling which offers sound psychological psychotherapy combined with spiritual sensitivity. CLCC is an accredited service center of the American Association of Pastoral Counselors.
What is pastoral counseling? "Pastoral counselors are clergy or persons in religious orders who have received extensive training in individual psychotherapy and marriage and family counseling. They integrate their training and skills as clergy and as psychotherapists, combining care and concern for each person with an understanding and appreciation of human and spiritual growth and a respect for religious traditions." At times, any of us can be confronted by uncertainties and life experiences that threaten to exhaust our emotional and spiritual resources. At other times we are not in crisis, but seek encouragement, personal growth, and self understanding. Across the nation, more than 3,000 certified pastoral counselors provide a variety of services to help during these times. They bring to psychotherapy a pastoral concern for individuals.
Pastoral Counseling respects each persons individual growth process and personal beliefs. There is no judgment or condemnation in the therapeutic process. The challenge is to find the meaning behind actions and feelings and understand ourselves more deeply. Pastoral Counseling is based upon the belief that within each person there is an interaction of body, mind, and spirit. Effective therapy includes the recognition of this interaction. The goal is for each person to discover new wholeness of body, mind, and spirit.
What Will You Gain? With the support of a counselor you can grow into a new awareness, see yourself more clearly, understand your problems, gain insight into your marital and family conflicts, learn special problem-solving skills and reach new plateaus in life.
