We are a 139-bed skilled nursing facility housed in the historic St. Joseph's Home for the Blind in the heart of Jersey City. Since our founding by the Sisters of St. Joseph's of Peace in 1891 we have provided care to the blind and elderly first as St. Joseph's Home for the Blind and, since 2002, as the Margaret Anna Cusack Care Center. And now, as we approach our 120th Anniversary, we are proud to announce the expansion of our sub acute/short term care and dementia care services.
Our first floor 34 bed Subacute Care Unit provides nursing and rehabilitation care to patients who are transitioning from hospital to home. Our clinical capabilities include, but are not limited to, physical, occupational and speech therapies, IV antibiotics, pain management, wound care, etc. If you or a loved one need rehabilitative care following a hospital stay talk to your doctor and ask that he/she refer you to the Cusack Care Center. We are here to meet your needs 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
To better serve our cognitively impaired residents-those suffering from various forms of dementia including Alzheimer's Disease, we have created a safe and environmentally friendly environment on our fourth floor. Our trained nursing staff and skilled activities professionals provide quality restorative nursing care and special activities such as art and music to soothe the soul and awaken the spirit within.
Telephone and Television service are provided on our Subacute Care Unit. The Center also offers free WIFI.
