Prepare your storage space by placing pallets or cardboard matting on the floor.
Leave air space around units' perimeter to aid in ventilation.
Place boxes on top on large appliances to utilize space.
A refrigerator or freezer should be thoroughly dried and stored with its door slightly ajar.
Heavy items such as books, records, and dishes should be placed in small easy to handle boxes and extra padding should be used to fill out empty pockets in the carton.
To retard dust, wipe all metal surfaces with a rag containing a few drops of mineral oil i.e., bicycles and tools.
Pack books flat to protect spines.
Pack mirrors, dishes and screens on edge not flat.
Disassemble beds and tables and wrap table legs in paper. If the table/s cannot be disassembled place it upside down on a padded floor and store things on top of it.
Use extra padding when packing fragile or delicate items and mark them accordingly.
Pack stereos, cameras, and other high value items in unmarked boxes towards the rear of the storage space.
Place a light dust cover over furniture.
Use a high quality lock for added security.
