Hiriki Ryu is a classical style of Aikido. It is an art that can be used for self-defense and for the building of an integrated true self, an art which challenges not only the body but also the mind and essence of the human being whose aspiration it is to follow the true Do (path) of the martial way.
Hiriki Ryu is a combination of elements which together comprise a comprehensive martial art. It has different categories of study which build upon each other to expand the student's knowledge of the martial way.
Hiriki Ryu's development of the path is based on the theory of the foundations and pillars of Aikido as taught by the founder of Aikido, O Sensei Morihei Ueshiba. The development of the path has continued and is enhanced to ensure that this martial way joins the new millennium.
Hiriki Ryu principles or waza contain the same techniques as the Aikido of O Sensei the founder. Their expansion to a new pinnacle places Hiriki Ryu on the leading edge of the martial science of Aikido.
