The Brain Injury Association of New Jersey and the New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety are sponsoring a contest that challenges students and staff of New Jersey high schools to develop campaigns to address teen driving safety. New Jersey Manufacturers Insurance Company has joined forces with the two groups in this effort and will donate a driving simulator to the winning school.
The Champion Schools Project officially began October 17, and applications will be accepted through November 30, 2010. Students can utilize social media, videos, blogs, traditional media or other means to help spread the message. Up to 10 schools will be selected to participate, and each will receive a stipend of $1,000 to help implement their projects.
On May 20, 2011, a teen driving safety event will be held to showcase the projects. Judging will occur at the event, and the winning school will be announced.
