Welcome to the Crab Trap Restaurant
We are the finest seafood restaurant located in Somers Point, New Jersey. This restaurant is situated on the site of Somerset Plantation, which was the property of John Somers (one of this areas original settlers). Within a few hundred feet on the other side of the circle stands the Somers Mansion built between 1720 and 1726 by Richard Somers, the son of John Somers.
The house now belongs to the State of New Jersey and is one of the oldest settlements in the state! Overlooking the Great Egg Harbor Bay in Somers Point is the Crab Trap Restaurant. The Crab Trap was established in 1967 by Jack Wallace. Back then it was known as Maenners Cafe serving tap beer and sandwiches to Somers Point residents.
The Somers Point Circle will experiencesome constructionduring the next few months. This work is necessary as part of the second phase of construction on the new Route 52 causeway that provides a vital link to major Jersey Shore recreational destinations. Please check the Department of Transportation Web site for more information concerning this project.
