Love seems to be both one of the most talked about subjects and one of the least understood. But love is supposed to be one of the defining characteristics of both individual Christians and Christ's Church. On Sunday mornings from October 31st through November 21st we are going to try to answer the question; what is love and why is it seemingly so difficult to understand and even hard to do?
One aspect of truly loving another is learning what to do when things don't go well. When we are disappointed, or worse yet, severely hurt by something said or done to us, our natural reaction is fight or flight. We either defend ourselves, perhaps even going on the offensive, or we run away from the conflict saving ourselves further pain. But what does the Bible teach about resolving conflict between people? Along with giving us an opportunity to praise God in song and prayer, this week's service will include a talk by Pastor Chet Klope entitled "The Lost Art of Forgiveness" based on the teachings of Jesus found in the Gospel of Matthew, Chapter 18.
Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times?”
Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times."
