You see that guy in the photograph on the left? That's my husband. A long time ago he got into a car accident. As a result of that, he now has a somewhat diminished sense of taste. All of the hard candy we could find was so bland that you had to take the candy out of your mouth and look at the color in order to try and figure out what flavor it was! So I started making hard candy and sugar free hard candy for him because I wanted candy that he could enjoy, --
I wanted hard candy that you could tell the flavor difference between lime and lemon without looking at the color!!
All of the flavors had to be rich in flavor, and they had to have flavor all the way through the candy. It took a long time to get the recipes right (he's pretty picky :) ), but it was worth the effort. Our richer flavored hard candy was served at one of the 2005 Presidential Inaugural Balls, two of our hot flavors have won Scovie awards (including Hot Cinnamon), and our hard candy has been featured with Al Roker on "Roker on the Road" on The Food Network television channel. So, if you're tired of hard candy or sugar free hard candy that just tastes like a bland blob of sugar and are looking for flavor that grows the longer it's in your mouth, .....
