The Arc of Cape May County, Inc., is a private non-profit organization whose purpose is to promote the general welfare of individuals who are developmentally disabled of all ages.
The Arc of Cape May County, Inc. had its origins in the early 1960's when an early intervention program was started by mothers with developmentally disabled children meeting as a support group. The Cape May County Arc officially organized in 1965. At the time there were about 25 individuals receiving daycare services and recreation activities. On November 10, 1972 the organization was incorporated. Today we have serve up to 305 individuals annually with our respite, residential, recreation and employment services.
We are also a source for affordable housing to low income individuals we serve. We provide many unique opportunities to our residents who decide to live Cape May County, New Jersey. The beautiful jersey cape shore areas provide a peaceful and enjoyable area to live, work and play.
We are a charitable 501(3)c organization and welcome tax deductible donations that help support our organization. Our Thrift shop in Rio Grande accepts donated household items that we resell to support the organization. Our Crew Labor program provides landscaping services to the community and fees generated help support the program.
We currently have over 200 employees that work to support our organization. We offer a variety of work schedules and great employee benefits.
The Arc of Cape May County, Inc. is affiliated with the Arc/United States and the ARC/New Jersey.
The Arc of Cape May County, Inc. is also a proud supporter of local Special Olympics teams.
