Helmets And Children - Helmets can feel confining to kids, too, so it's good that newer models fit better and offer more comfortable designs and materials than ever before. Fitting a helmet to a child takes extra care. For instance, use caution when adjusting the chin strap so it's comfortable. And never pinch your child's skin in the buckle or you may have trouble completing the fitting session.
Kids often push helmets back on their heads. This robs them of proper forehead protection. Adjusting helmet straps correctly will prevent this from happening. Do your first adjustment in front of a full-length mirror. Kneel down to your child's level. Make it fun for them to learn what's right and wrong. Our best advice for teaching your child to wear a helmet? Simple: Wear one yourself.
