UPDATE:We now carry the Canine Influenza (H3N8) vaccine.
Canine Influenza is a highly contagious virus. Most dogs are at risk but the danger increases should your dog be boarded at a kennel, goes to "Doggie Daycare" or goes to a groomer, or visits dog parks. Also, if you got your dog from a shelter, kennel, pet shop, or other such facility, the risk of infection is higher.
Canine Influenza can be spread through the air by an infected pet coughing or sneezing on your dog or by direct contact with the infected pet.
Canine Influenza can also contaminate your clothing and can be carried on your hands from petting an infected pet then touching your own.
The Canine Influenza Vaccine is the first line of defense against the virus. The vaccine is first administered in two doses spaced 3 - 4 weeks apart followed by booster shot every year thereafter.
